Martin appeared as the Vicar in Eastenders for a one-hour wedding special broadcast (the marriage of Ricky & Bianca) on 18 February, celebrating the series’ 25th anniversary.

Other recent work includes playing the Obstetrician in Garrows Law on BBC1, the menacing customs officer in the promo for the Jamie Oliver American Road Trip, and Wesley the Butler in the feature film Mission London.

His latest theatre show was the highly acclaimed one-man play Wellington at The Barn Theatre, Smallhythe, Kent, in June 2010.

This followed two tours of the award winning play Humble Boy, in which he played the part of Jim the gardener. The play was directed by Michael Cabot for the London Classic Theatre Company.

Martin’s next appearance will be as ‘the whisky priest’ Father Kallifer, in the revival of The Potting Shed by Graham Greene. The play will be performed at the Finborough Theatre for three consecutive Sunday and Monday performances on 12/13, 19/20 and 26/27 September 2010.

Martin says: “I’m delighted to be playing this part. It’s a great role, with a pivotal scene at the end of the play and I hope as many of my friends and professional colleagues will be able to see it. This play is absolutely right for a revival.”
